The team at the Career Coaching Centre will offer you a personal, professional and confidential mentoring relationship. If you are just starting out, uncertain of your career path, in transition, or wishing to gain skills for the future, the Career Coaching Centre offers a state of the art management system that will help you succeed!
What you will do
- Establish a meaningful career path considering aptitude, interest, personality and job market futures based on the Dictionary of Occupational Titles (DOT), National Occupational Classification (NOC), Statistic Canada and Labour Market information.
- Develop an awareness of the importance of having special action plans in place to position you for successful entry to the best training for your chosen career goal.
- Development and maintenance of Action Plans.
- Create and navigate through a career and/or educational MAP.
- Establish contacts in the community through career experiences.
We will help you MAP your career path in three stages.
1. PERSONAL ASSESSMENT of your INTERESTS and ABILITIES –Vocational Evaluators use an interactive computer program to conduct eight (8) assessments and surveys which measure 12 interest areas and 27 criterion referenced factors. Your goal, as you explore, is to find five (5) top career fields in our database cross-referenced to over 190 video clips and Internet hotlinks.
2. FOCUS on your POTENTIAL and CAREER CHOICE – experienced coaches, all respected in the education field as motivators and career specialists, will help you focus on your career choice and MAP the way for you to be more effective with your academic and/or training choices. Your coach will help you make the connection between academic performance and your potential career.
3. EXPLORE your CAREER OPPORTUNITIES – You will explore a database of more than 1000 careers connected to current Department of Labour wage and employment data for the country. With their extensive connections in the business community, our coaches will help you gain work experience in the chosen field, enabling you to validate your career choices.
